“UUGGHHHHH I hate running!!!”
Listen, I get it. I was a sprinter, but my high school track coach put me on long distance! So, I use to run a mile, stop and smoke a cigarette, and wait for the others to come around again before I ran the last mile back. (Yeah, I may have been a rebel back then, but at least I can say my sense of discipline has improved….a little.)
Here’s a bit of info for you. The brain knows how much energy and oxygen it needs to execute an exercise.
Mark wants to do a benchpress, and within that simple thought, Mark’s brain ( a sneaky S.O.B.) knows exactly how much energy and oxygen is required to execute this - and informs the rest of the body.
Mark wants to do a Sprint? Got it! Mark’s brain tells the body.
Mark wants to run long distance……AH HA!! I gotcha! Mark’s brain does not have an end in sight so it does not know how much energy/ oxygen its going to take. It’s just along for the ride, and during this ride is where people describe a sense of euphoria.
Now I get it.. you might be saying, “LIAR!!!! I’ve never felt that.” Well, I am happy to teach you - if you want to learn.
