STRENGTH

“It’s supposed to be hard, if it wasn’t hard everyone would do it. The hard is what makes it great.”- A League of Their Own

AH!! You’re looking to get STRONG? Well my friend, STRENGTH can be defined differently for all of us. It takes many forms. Whether you’re working up to that one rep max, or strengthening and toning those arms, weight lifting can only be approached in one of two ways: correctly or incorrectly.

Here’s the deal. You need someone to show you the correct way to lift for YOUR body.

We all have different muscle imbalances due to work/life circumstances:

  • Neck problems due to hours spent in front of a computer

  • Back problems due to hours on your feet.

  • Picking up children and positioning them on your hip

  • Hours spent in high heels

  • Injuries from CrossFit or group classes

Let me say, I am all about group activities and a sense of community! It can be helpful to have others push you to be the best you can be, BUT you need to know how to execute these exercises properly for YOUR body first. I believe it’s essential to be mindful of YOUR own imbalances (rather than trying to copy Chase or Tiffany over there, demonstrating a bicep curl).

I want to help you build a cement foundation (knowledge and form) before you can put up walls, paint and pick out curtains.

As a professional dancer I have over 25 years of experience when it comes to the body, and the way it moves. Anyone can read a book and recite what they’ve learned, but when it comes to weights, I believe you want someone who knows how the body works both inside and out.

Once you know the correct way, no one can ever take it away from you. Don’t be afraid of weights… get EXCITED!!!!
